Scenes from my personal campsite

Each year I watch as thousands of tourist from all over the world come to my neighborhood. They spend an extraordinary amount of money and effort and travel thousands of miles  just to experience where I live.

I understand . . . I live here and experience it every day.

What is a Mazourka Road?

Mazourka is a polka that was popular at dances in the 1860's when the mining road was improved and named by miners heading for Badger Flat and Mazourka Peak. The Road runs between the town of Bend (long gone) and Badger Flat. Native Americans originally used the trail to access the pine nut and game hunting areas higher in the Inyo Mountains.

I came close to stepping on this guy. Although he looks kinda bored, didn't want to disrupt his breakfast plans (or mine).
